RXC35 Coil Parameters Over Temperature

The Rincon Power RXC35 series contactors use an integrated dual-coil, electronically economized architecture, so key operating parameters vary with temperature as the coil winding resistance changes. This application note presents measured RXC35 coil performance across the full operating temperature range and explains the electrical and magnetic mechanisms behind the variation. Because coil resistance rises with temperature, coil current and therefore magnetic force decrease at constant applied voltage, which shifts pickup voltage, dropout voltage, and actuation behavior. It also addresses the system-level design impact of these effects, particularly in voltage-sensitive and battery-powered applications where supply voltage may sag.
